California-Baja California IT & Aerospace Virtual Trade Mission

The California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), the US Commercial Service and the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce cordially invite you to join this business opportunities mission to discover and plug into current supply chain market opportunities in Baja California. During this mission, California companies will hear from, and be introduced to potential business partners including government officials and prime contractors in Baja California.
This program is exclusive for qualified and selected California small businesses. There is no cost to participate, however registration is required. Interested California companies can register through the California State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) by selecting “Mexico IT & Aerospace Virtual Trade Mission” from the list of activities.

California companies with IT/Electronics and Aerospace products interested in plugging into the Baja CA supply chain are highly encouraged to apply!
During this mission, California companies will hear from, and be introduced to, potential business partners including government officials and prime contractors in Mexico (Tijuana and Mexicali).

MARKET OPPORTUNITIES:
IT/Electronics: The electronic industry in Baja California has 184 manufacturing plants and hundreds of suppliers that have generated more than 120,000 direct jobs of which about 64% are concentrated in the city of Tijuana.
Aerospace: Baja California has become Mexico’s most important state for aerospace after four decades of development and investment. Today, Baja California drives the country’s aerospace output with over 80 companies and exports of around $1.8 billion. These companies, however, require inputs and 95% of all supplies are still imported into Baja. This represents a strong sales opportunity for the aerospace industry in Southern California.

TRADE MISSION FORMAT:
California delegates will first meet in a virtual group setting with key IT/Electronic and/or aerospace players from Tijuana and Mexicali who will explain their organizations plans, priorities and procurement processes. After the group presentations, California delegates will meet one-on-one with relevant authorities to present their products/services and receive immediate feedback on next steps forward. Based on interest received, additional one-on-one closed door meetings will also be aranged on May 6th.
