Established in 1951 Rakar is regarded as an elite global supplier of engineered, high precision components including plastic and metal assemblies by the top Aerospace, Space, Marine, Defense, Industrial and Medical Primes, OEMs and contractors since 1951. Certified AS9100, ISO:9001, ITAR Registered, and Woman-Owned Company since 2017 when former employee now current CEO, Theresa Padilla-Chaparro acquired Rakar, Incorporated.

Theresa Padilla-Chaparro, CEO of Rakar, Inc. is a recognized figure in the Space and, Aerospace Industries. She was selected as one of the Top 50 Women in Business in the Central Coast of California by the Pacific Coast Business Times, recipient of the Latino Business Award for Technology, Alumnus of the Class of 2019 “Women Breaking the Mold” by Plastics Magazine and was bestowed an Honorary Ph.D. by the University of Spain and Mexico in 2017. Notably Rakar has been invited by NASA to form a part of their small business alliance to to support every stage of spacecraft and launch vehicle development from system design to flight and mission operations. Including development, testing, and evaluation of materials, processes, designs, and systems for International Space Station (ISS) habitation modules, the Hubble and Chandra observatories, and the heavy-lift, human-rated Space Launch System (SLS). SLS, the most powerful rocket ever built, will enable crewed exploration missions beyond Earth’s orbit to destinations across the solar system.

At Rakar, we design and manufacture engineered, precision components for the Space, Aerospace, Defense, Medical, Automotive, and Consumer Industries since 1951. Founded by Ray Laporte and Karl Bischoff, Rakar established itself as a recognized leader in the manufacturing of electrical connectors and insulators. In 2017 Theresa Padilla-Chaparro acquired the Company from Walter Pittman, Ray’s son-in-law, who served as the CEO from 1985 to 2017. Rakar had been her employer for almost forty years at the time. Today, we continue as a family-owned & operated business, Theresa’s son, Diego Padilla serves as the company’s Executive Vice-President. Under Theresa’s leadership the company has become AS9100-D certified, and a direct supplier to Boeing, SpaceX, the Defense Logistics Agency.

In 2023 Rakar, moved into a new 29,000 Sq Ft State of the Art Facility in Oxnard, CA.. Today we look forward to the exciting changes in our industry and within our company.
